▼ DAILY ITINERARY ▼

Day 1

Arrival Day

You will be met at the airport by one of the Yak Attack Team and transferred to a 3*+ hotel in Thamel. There will be time to unwind and unpack before an informal evening meal with the rest of the riders and crew.

Day 2

Preparation Day

Following a relaxed breakfast at the hotel, riders will be issued with their Yak Attack merchandise; this will include a kit bag for transporting belongings during the tour and a Yak Attack race jersey. There will then be time to check the bikes over with one of the Yak Attack crew on standby to assist with any mechanical issues. The afternoon will be free for a relaxed sightseeing ride around some of the sights Kathmandu has to offer. An early evening group meal will leave ample time for packing belongings for an early start the following morning. Bike bags and all luggage not required during the tour can be left at the hotel.

Day 3

Kathmandu to Nawakot – 53km Ride – 1090m Ascent

The Yak Attack team will load the luggage onto the support vehicle which will leave whilst the riders have breakfast at the hotel. Riding straight from the hotel, a 10km gradual climb through the streets of Kathmandu takes riders up to the Shivapuri National Park, and the start line of the Yak Attack race (riders can start their GPS here if they want to compare times with the race times). From here, riders hit the dirt with a 3km steep climb, followed by a 14km descent and another brutal 5km ascent in the mid day heat. The destination today is Nawakot and the idyllic location of The Famous Farm Guesthouse regarded by some as one of the most beautiful and tranquil spots in Nepal.

Day 4

Nawakot to Arughat – 51km Ride – 1900m Ascent

We will need an early breakfast today as even though we’ve split the race stage into 2, it’s still one of the hardest days riding of the whole tour. Leaving Nawakot, there is a 10km sealed downhill section before we hit the dirt again. This is where the Yak Attack Stage 2 race starts. Over 50km of riding with 1900m of ascent follows, in sweltering heat and dusty conditions, this will be a test for even the toughest of riders. Unlike the race, we finish the days riding in Arughat, a town that feels like it’s in the middle of nowhere, because basically it is!

Day 5

Arughat to Gorkha – 50km Ride – 1200m Ascent

Not as tough as yesterdays ride but still lots of dry and dusty climbing and descending, luckily there will be Torq products available to keep you hydrated and fuelled. Todays final destination is Gorka, Nepal’s former capital, perched high on the side of the Himalayan foothills.

Day 6

Gorkha to Besi Sahar – 60km Ride – 1200m Ascent

An easy day by MTB-Worldwide standards! A later breakfast today will allow riders a bit longer to recover from the previous days efforts. A 7km downhill section starts the day, followed by around 23km of undulating terrain through a peaceful arable landscape. The final 30km is on rolling sealed road and this will bring riders to Besi Sahar and the start of the Annapurna circuit (also the start of Attack the Pass).

Day 7

Besi Sahar to Pokhara – 86km Ride – 1300m Ascent

After a 15km back track from Besi Sahar, there are 55km of scintillating and undulating off road trails that bring us to Begnas Lake and the sealed road to Pokhara. A further 16km of mainly flat sealed road will bring riders into the lakeside resort of Pokhara, where a luxury hotel and a relaxing atmosphere awaits you.

Day 8

Relaxation Day

Nothing to do but sit back and enjoy the ambience of Pokhara, or if you’re not one for relaxing, why not book into one of the many adventure activities that happen in the area, including paragliding or the world’s longest zip line!

Day 9

Transfer Day

After a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, we transfer by coach back to Kathmandu (approx 7 hours) and check back into our original hotel.

Day 10

See you again soon!

Transfer to international airport or continue on with own itinerary
